How can we design an application that pays bills on time, keep track of spending, and manages accounts?

Crafting designs that are easy for users to navigate, simplifying tasks such as bill payments, tracking transactions, and monitoring spending.

With Repay, the process becomes seamless. You not only have the capability to effortlessly check and manage your monthly bills but also gain a comprehensive overview of your transactions—all at your fingertips.

Design Challenge

The challenge is to develop an intuitive and user-friendly design for the Repay application that simplifies the often-complicated process of managing diverse financial responsibilities.

I wanted to create a mobile application that addresses the challenge of managing monthly expenses and due bills across multiple accounts. As the product designer for this project, my goal is to enable users to:

Pay bills promptly and effortlessly
Track all their accounts on a daily basis
Help users reach their financial goals

Research & Analysis

Before developing the app, I took the time to figure out what the visitors to the page were looking for. I conducted competitive analysis, comparing three different bill tracker apps.

I looked into their strengths, weaknesses, content, design, user experience, and opportunities to figure out what additional information could be useful and what users were seeking.

User Flow

I stressed the significance of creating a user-friendly experience, with a focus on providing clients with a better understanding of their transactions and effective ways to manage them.

Lo-Fi Wireframes

I created lo-fi wireframes using Figma to outline the Repay process, ensuring that they incorporated the key points identified during my competitive analysis research.

My emphasis was on designing a homepage that effectively showcases the value Repay offers. After users sign up or log in, they can personalize their experience by establishing and monitoring customized financial goals, keeping track of transactions, and efficiently managing all their financial accounts.

Final Solutions

Working on this project was both enjoyable and challenging. It taught me a lot about finding ways for users to handle their finances conveniently in one place. Looking back, I realize the importance of doing more user testing to improve how users achieve their goals. Although the app isn't perfect, the satisfaction of helping users with their finances and guiding them toward their goals kept me dedicated to the design process.

If I had the chance to go back, I would spend more time on user testing for a better user experience. Despite its flaws, the Repay app is a practical tool that guides users toward financial success.
